01What it is
Roadside assistance holds towing calls. Each gets a number with the HOL prefix and can be created before the customer and car are in the records.
The app works out the amount: call-out fee plus distance times the rate per unit. An amount typed by hand takes priority. Distance is entered from the odometer, because the app does not send addresses anywhere.
The item shows in the menu when you tick that you provide roadside assistance in the workshop settings. That is also where you set the default rates.

Tows in a period
Range of 30 days, 90 days, 12 months or a custom date range.
- Tiles: completed tows, value, distance driven, unpaid
- Charts: tows over time, who pays, tow truck load
From where, to where and for how much
The only required field is the pick-up place.
- Caller, phone, car description, pick-up place and destination

04Tasks step by step
- STEP 1Open Modules › Extra services › Roadside assistance and add a call.
- STEP 2Enter the pick-up place, phone and car description. Save.
- STEP 3Assign the tow truck and driver when they leave.
- STEP 1Enter the distance from the odometer. The amount is worked out from the rates if you leave it empty.
- STEP 2Tick Completed, and once paid, Paid.
- STEP 1On a call without a job choose Create job.
- STEP 2A job is created in the quote status with the car description and pick-up place.
